Babycord | Needlecord

Fab range of babycord fabric, also known as needlecord, sold by the metre from the UK’s premier fabric retailer.

Babycord / needlecord refers to corduroy fabric with finer ribs. The width of each rib, commonly referred to as the Wale is sized by numbers. The higher the number, the thinner the wale is. Lots of our babycord materials are around 12 wale, whilst jumbo cords are around 4 wale.

Lots of needlecord for you to explore in a fab range of colours, cord widths and weights. Ideal for dressmaking and interior projects.

Cord fabric is traditionally made from cotton, with most of our cords being 100% cotton. You can see the exact composition of each of our fabrics on each product’s page.
